Extramarital Affair is free to read because it is funded by advertising. This page explains how that works and where the line sits between advertising and editorial.

How we are funded

Display advertising served programmatically, primarily through Google AdSense.

Editorial independence

Advertisers have no input into what we publish, which topics we cover, or what position we take.
Advertisers do not see articles before publication.
No advertiser can have an article changed, softened, or removed.
We do not publish sponsored articles presented as editorial. If we ever run sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled “Paid content” at the top of the page.

How ads are labelled

Every ad unit on this site carries a visible “Advertisement” label and is visually separated from editorial content, so you always know which is which.

What we do not allow

Given the sensitivity of this subject, we block ad categories that we consider exploitative of readers in distress, including:

Phone-tracking, spyware, and “catch a cheater” surveillance apps.
Dating and affair-arrangement services.
Services promising guaranteed reconciliation, guaranteed legal outcomes, or guaranteed astrological results.
Payday lending and predatory credit.

Programmatic advertising is imperfect. If you see an ad here that breaches this list, please report it to partners@extramaritals.com with a screenshot and we will block it.
